Frank Adams Randolph, age 84, gained his heavenly wings on Friday night, April 28, 2023. He was surrounded with family and loved ones as he passed peacefully during his final moments.
Frank, the youngest boy out of ten children, was born on August 20, 1938, to Pearl Adams and William James Randolph in Knox Street at Acres Home in Houston, Texas. Frank joined the United States Army in 1960 and proudly served for 27 years and eight months with the rank of Master Sergeant. He was stationed mostly overseas to include Germany, Panama, Thailand, and Japan. Frank met the love of his life Mercedita (Mercy) on September 1978 while stationed in Tokyo, Japan. He decided to request extension of his duty assignment to be with her and then married Mercy on July 3, 1984. After retiring at a young age of 49, he decided to NEVER WORK EVER AGAIN, and SO HE DID BLISSFULLY.
There are not enough words to describe the man he was, except that he was special and irreplaceable. Loved ones and friends always valued his company, guidance, presence, and opinion. He has taken care and helped many without asking or looking for anything in return. He was a simple man with an exceedingly kind heart and beautiful soul. Even though he is no longer here, his legacy lives on in each of our hearts.
Frank was a simple man who enjoyed and loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. After retirement, Mercy and him enjoyed traveling around the world and going to Casinos. They settled down once their children got married and started having babies. He decided that they will be the babysitters for their grandchildren so he told Mercy to go with Shawn and Melissa to help take care of Kyndle and Sydnie while he stayed in Houston to help his son Manny take care of Aaron and Ryan. They took their grandchildren traveling to El Paso, San Antonio, Harker Heights, New Mexico, California, Hawaii and Philippines, just to name a few. Another grandchild is added and he was just as excited to meet Feri. He flew back to Philippines just to be with her while his health was still good, but as she is growing up they kept in touch through video messenger and talked to each other every week up until his passing. Frank revolved his time and energy loving his grandbabies and they showed all that loved back to him just as much especially the past year when he needed support and encouragement to get better.
Frank is survived by his older brother, William James Randolph, Jr.; his wife, Mercedita Randolph; son, Manuelito and spouse, Jenny of Dasmariñas, Philippines; and daughter, Melissa and spouse, Shawn of Cibolo, Texas. He is also survived by five loving grandchildren, Aaron, Kyndle, Ryan, Sydnie and Feri. Frank is outlived as well by numerous cousins, many nieces and nephews, and other extended family. He was preceded in death by both his parents, three older brothers, five sisters, as well as his close friend, Steve.
Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude for all of the love and care given by so many families and friends to Frank over the years but most especially this past six months.
A visitation for Frank will be held Monday, May 15, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Paradise Funeral Home, Inc, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
