Frank Montiel, 57, passed away peacefully at home on December 3, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 15, 1966. Frank graduated from MacArthur High School in Aldine.
Frank is preceded in death by his Brothers Jerry Montiel and Nathan Montiel and his Grandmothers Margaret Vasquez and Simplicia Carrillo.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years Anna, his Mother and Step-Father Mary and Tony Cordova, Father John Montiel, Brothers Alex Montiel and Ernest Montiel, Sister Leslie Montiel, Daughters and Sons-in-law Amy and Anthony Acuna and Karissa and Derek Shaw, and 10 Grandchildren Jessyiah, Xavier, Anna, Anthony, Dominick, Abigail, Aubrey, Lilly, Jaxon and Steven.
Frank was a loving, kind-hearted, devoted and loyal husband, dad and grandpa but was a bit stubborn as well. Nevertheless, he was our hero. He was his wife Anna’s biggest fan and supported her in her both her personal and business life. Together they worked through challenges and worked toward goals throughout their marriage. Frank was a hard worker all of his life. He was employed by Houston Distributing Co. for 25 years and worked his way up to supervisor from 2005-2017. Frank drove tractor trailers for many years and often bragged that he could pick up a quarter with a forklift.
For the last 4 years of his life Frank worked at FedEx Ground in Spring. He was a very dedicated employee and worried about missing work even when he was very ill. Great employees like Frank are very hard to find! Frank absolutely loved his dog Lola Marie. Many days they could be found lounging together on the couch. Lola was always by his side. Anna and Frank traveled to many places on their bucket list including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Jamaica, Cozumel and Costa Maya Mexico (just to name a few), and they also visited many memorable places such as Hoover Dam, Grand Ole Opry, Lake Mead, Pearl Harbor and Disney World. Frank’s favorite musician was Billy Joel and of course his favorite song was the Piano Man. Frank had a sense of humor…Amy, Karissa and Frank’s mom received daily phone calls from Frank with a joke or riddle. The Astros, Texans and San Antonio Spurs were Frank’s favorite sports teams. Anna and Frank shared their love for the Astros, but she called herself a football widow during football season. Frank will definitely be missed.
The family extends our sincere thanks and appreciation for all the prayers and support during this time.
