Frank Louis Burg passed away January 11, 2011. He was born April 1, 1921 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Frank Louis and Margaret Powers Burg. The fourth born of seven siblings, he was predeceased by his parents, first wife Maude Bordes Burg, brothers: Gerald, Ashton and Pershing and sister’s Thelma and Patricia. Surviving are sisters Mary Lou Powers and Jane Reese. He graduated from St. Aloyisius High School and served in the US Army during World War II in the Pacific theater. He graduated from Loyola University in 1953 with an accounting degree and went to work for Continental Can Co. He was transferred to Houston and finished his working career here, retiring as Executive VP of Portakamp Mfg. Co. in 1984. Frank is survived by his wife of 24 years Janice, sons James and wife Kathy, Robert and wife Maureen, David and wife Jennifer and daughter Joan Jett and husband Don. Grandchildren: Brian Burg, Eric Burg, Courtney Bruegmann, Patrick Burg, Ashley Burg, Harry Burg, Brandon Jett and Ryan Jett and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are step-daughter Elizabeth Lange and husband Will and children Alexandra and Olivia and Step-son Michael Birks and wife Diana; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 13th from 5:00 until 8:00PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway Houston, Texas. The Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Friday January 14th at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail.
