Dr. Frank Kwaku Addai, resident of Georgetown, Austin, formerly living in Humble, Houston passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Killeen at the age of 46 years through a fetal vehicular accident on his way to work in that morning.
He was born on November 3, 1976, at Offinso in the Ashanti Region, to the late Nana Oduro Boamah (Tanoboasi Manhene), and the late Madam Sara Nyame as their 7th child of the 8 children. Later, the family relocated to Techiman in Brong Ahafo Region, where Frank was raised.
He did his basic education at Tuobodom Roman Catholic School and continued to Techiman Senior High School (SHS). He was among the first batch, who graduated in 1993 of the current JHS/SHS educational concept instituted in 1987 by the late former president, Jerry John Rawlings. After completing Techiman Secondary School, he was one of the only 2 students out of 1,000 who passed Math and English. He continued his education to the University of Ghana, Legon and graduated in 2001.
After graduation, he did his one-year national service at Kwahu Nkwatia SHS as a Chemistry tutor. After his national service, he was employed at Konongo-Odumasi SHS as one of the Chemistry teachers for some time until he emigrated to the United States in 2007. In the United States, he attended Texas Southern University (TSU) Houston, and graduated as Doctor of Pharmacy in 2015.
After graduation, Frank was employed as a pharmacist by Walmart for about three years, and then by Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center as a pharmacist in Killeen until his untimely demise.
Frank was a Methodist and a devout Christian from childhood. His reverence for the Lord earned him a nickname “Pope” from his students when he was a chemistry teacher at Konongo-Odumasi Senior High School (KOSS). His charisma and devotion to the work of the Lord made the Ghana Wesley Methodist Church in Houston appointed him to the position of the Lay Chairman for some time not long he joined the church.
Frank loved people, especially kids and students. He was also someone who cherished education. His love for students and education inspired him to help many people and relatives, who aspired to continue their education in diverse ways. For instance, during his vacation at the University of Ghana, he organized classes and taught his students for free. He liked soccer and was a fan of Manchester City FC, in England. He is survived with a wife and two daughters.
