From an early age Kay found out about “Going”. Her father said her first name was Go, her second name was “Go” and her last name was “Go”. She has been on the go ever since. She had her driver’s license until the end. She always said if she could not drive, she would not want to live any longer.
Life took her in many directions, but her favorite place was with family and friends. Early on we were surrounded by family. Her two brothers David and Charles and their wives, June and Joyce and kids Jr, Terry Dean, Deronda, Darla, David, Tammy, Dale and Danny. It seemed like everyone was chipping in and taking care of us all. From the flying squirrels to David’s long comb over, life was always interesting. Pappa and Granny’s house was always fun and interesting. They did not have indoor plumbing at first they had an outhouse. With goats, a haunted house and one-eyed snake in the pond, Bagwell, Texas was always fun.
Mom and Terry started going to First Apostolic Church in Highlands, Texas. They quickly fell in love with the church and the people there. It was their extended family. The Jackson family has been such a fulfilling part of their life. My sister Melissa and husband Walter were very blessed with 25 acres in Lake Livingston. Melissa asked mom and Terry to move on the property with them and she was thrilled. The Wyrick Farm was founded. Mom had to find a new church because the 1.5-hour drive each way would not work out very well. She found Brother Buxton’s church in Goodrich, Texas. First Apostolic Church of Goodrich has been mom and Terry’s place of worship ever since. They found a place to fit in and to be a part of God’s work and worship. Terry and mom have loved living on the Wyrick Farm and having family nearby until the end.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Wilford & Nina Mae Whitsell and brothers, David Whitsell and Charles Whitsell; nephews, JR, Terry Dean, David and Dale.
