FRANCES LEE HEDRICK SCOTT, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, the 3rd of June, 2016 in Bellaire, Texas, where she was a resident for 67 years. Born the 10th of July 1924 in Beckley, West Virginia, she moved to Houston when she was 12 years old.
She graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1942. During World War II she worked at Ellington Field and afterwards for Humble Oil and Gas. In 1946, she married her beloved husband, the late John F. Scott, Jr. Their wonderful marriage endured 60 years until his death in 2006. She worked as office manager and accessory buyer for Mary Ann Bryan Interiors for 25 years, retiring in 1986. She was much loved by all who knew her; she was fun and funny, with the endearing ability to laugh at herself. She was kind, creative and she adored her family.
Frances is survived by her children, Sandra Yeager, Sharon Scott and John F. Scott, III and his wife, Lucile; grandsons, Scott Yeager and his wife Misti, and Chris Yeager; granddaughter, Kayleigh Frances Scott; great granddaughters Vivian Yeager, Madeline Yeager, Amanda Yeager and Emily Yeager; brother, Lacy D. Hedrick; half brother Tom Barbazette and wife Joyce; sister-in-law, Emily Shepherd and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at three o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 8th of June in the Chapel of St. John the Divine Church where the Rev. Dr. Douglas W. Richnow, Senior Associate Rector, is to officiate.
