Frances Mamie Rummell passed away in Houston, Texas, on July 5, 2015. She was born in Houston on February 17, 1915 to William Justin Rummell and Elizabeth Cato Cooper Rummell. Her brother, William James Rummell, Jr., and her sisters Elizabeth Mary Rummell, and Mary Ellen Rummell Brown predeceased her. Frances is survived by nieces Cheryl Brown McCullough of Wakefield, Kansas, Ann Rummell Barr (Andrew) of Dallas, Texas, nephew Michael Brown (Cindy) of Howard, Colorado, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Also surviving are beloved friends Julie O’Brien Smith and Larry Smith, and Julius Quick of Houston. Frances attended Houston Public Schools and was a long-time employee and retiree of Southern Pacific Railroad. She was a gifted seamstress, craftswoman, and gardener. She volunteered during retirement in the Cardiology Department of St. Joseph Hospital. She was a lifelong member of Christ Church Cathedral. A graveside service will be held at Historic Hollywood Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11.
