Foster Lewis

Foster Lewis Sr, was born November 19,1926 to Foster Lewis Sr. and Isabella Riles in Franklin, La. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings. He attended public school in Franklin, La.

Foster was united in Holy Matrimony with Lucille Conley on December 26, 1948. Later they moved to Houston, Texas in 1949. To this union nine beautiful children were born.

Foster began his spiritual walk with Christ at a young age at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church.

He worked in construction where he learned and mastered many skills. He retired as a supervisor, he used his skills to help others to maintain their home.

Foster had a very competitive spirit in everything he attempted to do – work and activities. He enjoyed playing baseball in his younger days. He enjoyed watching baseball, football and basketball. He considered himself the world’s best domino player.

Foster leaves to cherish his memories, his eight children -Rosa L. Bell, Melvin J. Lewis, Foster Lewis Jr., Annie L. Conner (Ralph), Ronald W. Lewis Sr. (Shirley), Evelyn J. McGee, Darrell K. Lewis (Narvalene), and Gabriel B. Lewis (Kesha), sixteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years Lucille Lewis, his son Donald W. Lewis and his seven siblings.

A visitation for Foster will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Paradise Funeral Home, Inc, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A funeral services will occur Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A committal will occur Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at PARADISE NORTH CEMETERY, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088.
