Ms. Florence Graves went on to be with the Lord on Tuesday January 11, 2022. Ms. Graves was born on October 20, 1920, she married George Graves Jr. at the County Clerk’s office on March 29, 1937 at the age of 16 with the permission of her mother. She had 4 children: Garland Eugene Graves, Mary Maxine Graves Torres, Phyllis Jean Graves Struckmeyer, and Norman Douglas Graves.
Ms. Graves worked hard all her life and had various different jobs. She ironed and made clothes for her family as well as for other families, she was a waitress for the Foster Sisters and at Red Lobster and even worked for Churches Fried Chicken (where she had to swear not to divulge their secret recipe.), and she also drove cars for the Port of Houston to various places and dealerships.
Ms. Graves spent a considerable amount of time as a housewife and was married for 54 years before losing her husband in ’91. Ms. Florence enjoyed quilting and making hand sown quilts for her family, and she loved new adventures. She loved going places and doing just about anything with her family. Ms. Graves greatest love and joy was that of her family.
Serving as pallbearers are Kenneth Graves, Joel Torres, Kenny Pady, Billy Pady, Russel Graves, Tim Hollaran, Wayne Pady, Johnny Cyr and Charles Graves.
