Pete was born in Wharton, Texas, on April 24, 1935, the youngest of 6 children. After proudly serving in the United States Army from February 26, 1953, to February 24, 1956, he worked as a steel worker, long-haul truck driver, industrial plant operator, and security professional. He relished Westerns – especially anything starring John Wayne – airplanes, building models, fishing, hunting, and country music – Johnny Cash and Hank Williams were just two of his favorites.
Pete is preceded in death by his father, Vincente Vallejo, mother, Delores Vallejo, granddaughter, Brittany Marie Vallejo, and siblings Francis, Trina, Sandy, Anita, and Mary. He is survived by his children with Eddie Rae Loretta Vallejo: Michael John Vallejo, Kathleen Evelyn Vallejo; children with Patricia Ann Vallejo: James Darren Vallejo, Vernell Vincent Vallejo, and David Louis Vallejo; children with Sandra Vallejo-Garcia: Cecilia Izabel; his grandchildren, Sara Lynn Vallejo, Jessica Marie Dalton, Laurence I. Dalton, William Edward Dalton, Jamie Marie Vallejo, Julian Vallejo, David Louis Vallejo, and Alicia Rene Vallejo; and great granddaughter, Zaryiah Vallejo.
A visitation for Pete will be held Monday, March 14, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A celebration of life will occur Monday, March 14, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A committal service will occur Monday, March 14, 2022, from 2:15 PM to 2:45 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A reception will occur Monday, March 14, 2022, from 2:45 PM to 4:45 PM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
