Exie graduated from Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. He then went on to serve in the US Army from 1960 until 1963 as a morse code interceptor while stationed in Okinawa.
He met his beloved wife Linda in 1964 at a bowling tournament in Corpus Christi. They were married in 1965 and lived in Portland, Texas where he worked for Valley Pipeline. In 1965 they moved to Houston where he worked for Houston Pipeline and later Enron.
Exie was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed going on cruises with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60, years Linda; daughter Kara and her husband, Toby; son Steven and his wife, Sabrina; sister, Beverly Greene and her husband, Eddie; four grandchildren, Katie, Ryan, Payton and Dillon, and beloved nieces and nephews.
Exie will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation for Exie will be held Friday, April 18, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road, Houston, Texas 77055. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. The burial will follow in Woodlawn Funeral Home Garden of Memories, 1101 Antoine Drive, Houston, Texas 77055.
