Evelyn Yvonne Colbert Williams, affectionately known as “Gran”, “Mom”, “Aunt Dee Dee”, graced the Earth with her beautiful and loving presence on November 17, 1937. She was born in Houston, Texas to loving and proud parents, Cordell and Corine Colbert. Evelyn received her education from Booker T. Washington High School in Houston, Texas.
She was raised in a Christian home and that love gave way to her accepting Christ at an early age and being baptized. She was a dedicated member and musician at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.
Evelyn worked diligently at Park Plaza Hospital for multiple years as an Insurance Analyst, and at American Society for Medical Technology. She worked faithfully in her church serving others until her health took a toll. In her leisure time, she loved to spend time and travel with family and friends. In her later years, her neighbors at The Huntington and Cornerstone Village gave her great joy.
On December 6, 2021, Evelyn Yvonne Colbert Williams traded her earthly life for eternal peace in Heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cordell (Deceased) and Corine Colbert (Deceased); her husband, Robert Williams (Deceased); and brother, Albert G Walton (Deceased).
She leaves in God’s care to mourn her son Dwayne Colbert (Vonda); Sister-in-Law Evelyn Walton; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
