Evelyn Chandrani Singh, born on August 20, 1921, in Britannia Village on the West Coast of Berbice, Guyana, South America, passed away on September 23, 2012 in Houston, Texas at the age of 91. She was the daughter of the late Edward Ragubeer, a well-known rice farmer in Berbice, and his wife Alice Batersea Singhroy. She was the sixth of eight siblings with a younger surviving brother, Barlow Singhroy at Britannia. She is pre-deceased by her husband of 71 years, Luke Deonarine Singh and her son, Elroy. She is survived by her children, Orna (Krishna) Singh, Joycelyn Bayne, Lorene (Robert) Singh, Clyde (Vicky) Singh, Emil (Geoffrey) Jeboo and daughter-in-law Joan. She is the grandmother of 14 and great-grandmother of 10 as well as Aunty Evelyn to many loving nieces and nephews. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Evelyn Chandrani died peacefully at her daughter's home with the assurance that she will inherit her rightful place in God's Garden.
