Evelyn Ziegler Mullen, a life-long resident of Houston, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2010. She was born on January 19, 1907 to Annie Drewry Ziegler and Jesse Ziegler. Her father, a Galveston native, was a well-known Texas historian and a former Houston cotton broker. Her mother was born in Richmond, Virginia, and moved to Houston after the death of her parents. Her husband Boyd Mullen, who preceded her in death, was a well-known Chevrolet dealer who was very active in civic charities in Pasadena and Houston. Evelyn fulfilled her life-long dream and after the death of her husband traveled all over the world for many years. Her friends were very important in her life. She is survived by three nephews; Bob and his wife Linda Mullen, Dennis and his wife Janice Raschke, and Don and his wife Nancy Raschke, and several cousins, all of Houston. Visitation will be at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 3rd from 5pm to 7pm with a 11am graveside service Wednesday morning.
