Eugene H Doremus

Eugene (Gene) H. Doremus borne 7/1/1926 in Hackensack, NJ passed away 4/17/2021 at the age of 94. He was Married to Roseann Morgan for 68years. He was a WWII Naval Veteran. Gene was educated at Dartmouth and the University of Missouri where he received his Master of Geology. He was hired as a Geologist directly out of collage by Gulf Oil and retired in 1983 from Gulf. Gene wrote some of the first computer programs in the oil industry. He was a leader in theory of oil migration and held multiple patents. He was an Inventor, a problem solver and computer programing pioneer among many other endeavors. Gene was a Radio Ham operator and held a 2nd Class Telephone Operator License. He and his son Eric were competitive Thistle sailboat racers. Gene had many hobbies including art, photography, trains, and model building. He possesses an active mind till the end. Eugene was a voracious reader, computer gamer and took programing courses on-line with MIT University into his 90’s.

Eugene is survived by his wife Roseanne Morgan Doremus age 93, daughter Jean A. Edwards, son Glenn A. Doremus. Grandchildren; Caren & Eddy Bennett, Erica & Gabriella Doremus. Great grandchildren; Tyler Thompson, Peyton & Finley Bennett. Every Saturday Eugene looks forward to 4 generations of his family getting together to play cards.
