Ethel Marine Schultz Pless

Ethel Marine Schultz Pless, born July 7, 1923 in New Ulm, TX, passed away on July 25, 2011 in Brenham, TX. Ethel graduated from Sugar Land High School, went on to attend Lilly Jolly School of Nursing and earned her BA from University of Houston. She then became a World War II Air Force Cadet and RN. Ethel worked as a registered nurse for over 40 years, retiring in 1982, but never losing her passion for providing care for people. Ethel is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Ennis J. Pless; parents, Louis H. and Olga Schultz; sister, Mercedes Bowman, and nephew, Terry Bowman. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane and husband Lee Sikes; son, Rayland and wife Mahana Pless; grandsons, Cory Sikes and Blaine Pless; great grandchildren, Tommy Sikes and Natasha Sikes, and numerous other loving family members. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2011 in the chapel of Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd, Houston Texas 77008. Pastor Leeland of Trinity Lutheran Church will be officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Sealy Cemetery in Sealy, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be contributed to the HUG2 Program at Trinity Lutheran Christian School, at 800 Houston Ave, Houston TX 77007.
