Ethel Johnson Fullick, 90, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, April 2, 2010. Heaven became a place more real to us as she gained the final victory and received her eternal reward. She fought a good fight, she finished the course, and she kept the faith. Henceforth is laid up for her a crown of righteousness.
Ethel was born September 17, 1919 in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Conroe High School in 1937 and was voted Miss Conroe in 1938. Although attending business school in the 1940’s and holding jobs in several companies in Houston, once she married she devoted the rest of her life to being a wife, mother, and homemaker.
A member of St. Marks Methodist Church, she was an active member of the Mary Tarrant Women’s Circle and served as church librarian and as secretary of the United Methodist Women’s Association for several years.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Linia Armintor Johnson and Charles Wilburn Johnson, husband Robert Fredrick Fullick, and brothers James D. Johnson and Charles W. Johnson.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Rita Fullick, son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Martha Lou Fullick, daughter and son-in-law Donna and Billy Rash, grandchildren Dara Marie Fullick, Devyn Marie Roche and husband Steve, Robert Kyle Fullick and wife Laura, Clay Stephenson Fullick, Tiffany Marie Rash, Jacob Covy Rash and great granddaughter Abriella Murray Fullick.
A private graveside service for family and friends will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home and Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Ave., Houston TX. Ethel’s six grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. A memorial service will follow at 1:00pm at St Marks Methodist Church, 3811 North Main St. in Baytown TX with the Reverend Mike Proctor officiating.
