Ethel Ruth "Nan" Cowart, born September 18, 1923 in Crockett, Texas passed away July 7, 2011 in Pearland, Texas. Ethel and her family moved to West Houston in 1929 and resided here until she passed. She was very passionate about sewing and crocheting things for others. She loved her family more than anything and was very involved with her grandchildren. Ethel loved life and lived it to its fullest. Her fun and joking personality left marks on many of those who knew her. Her charisma and colorful soul will never fade from the memories of those she touched.
Ethel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alton Cowart, and also her mother and father, Oscar and Della Moulton. She is survived by her sister, Juanita Merle Kiger; cousin, Lanelle Black; daughter, Molly Carter; grandchildren, Susan and Curtis Goodson and Keith Carter; two great grandchildren, Garrett and Jill Goodson, and numerous other dear family and friends. She is also survived by her sweet pup, Leah, and her favorite orange kitty, Tiger.
Ethel’s services will be held at Heights Funeral Home Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Heights Chapel. The family would like all donations to be given to Ethel’s dear friends and loving caregivers at Windsong Village Nursing Home, 3400 E. Walnut Street, Pearland, Texas 77581.
