Esther Mae Hackett was born on December 19, 1946 To Robert (Bob) Allen Hackett (06/12/1920 - 12/11/1977) Margaret Eudora Hackett (06/02/1924 - 01/10/2005) and big sister Margaret Jean Hackett (08/02/1944-01/28/2022). Esther grew up in Houston Texas and was a member of Trinity Baptist church, then later, Melrose Baptist Church. Esther was very active in the church and a member of Girls in Action Ministry. She Graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1965.
Esther married Roger Davis August 6, 1965, and worked for Bell Telephone. She received the gift of motherhood on February 11th 1967 when her first child, John Allen was born. She welcomed Angela Spring on April 17, 1970. Esther loved being a mommy and she was excellent at it. She became a housewife and focused on raising her kids. The family moved to Porter Texas in October of 1972. They settled in and became members of first Baptist Church of Porter where Esther taught teenage girls in Sunday school, was the leader of the Gas, and a member of the choir. Esther went back to work in 1976 and started a career in Computer Technology at NL McCulloch.
On December 19, 1988 Esther got the best birthday present ever: her first Grandchild Nolan Scott Davis. Meghan Amanda (Mandi) was born on May 2, 1990 and last, but definitely not least, Lauren Ashleigh on August 13, 1991.
In August of 1993 Esther and Roger parted ways. This same year she also began working at Smith INTL.
On October12, 1996 Esther married her Beloved Donald Michael (Mike) Stannard. Esther went to work for Core Software as a Crystal Reports software trainer, where she was promoted to Training Coordinator and eventually COO.
Mike and Esther moved to Spring Texas in 1997 and built a wonderful life together. Esther joined Founders Baptist church and Mike built Esther a beautiful swing in the backyard that she referred to as her Happy Place. They celebrated their anniversary at the SeaScape condominiums in Galveston Texas every year. Esther retired from Core Software in 2013.
On April 16, 2010 Esther became a great-grandmother with the arrival of Brantley Dean Davis followed by Colton Allen Warren 02/13/2017, Macie Taylor Warren 08/31/2018, Canaan Briggs Davis 04/16/2019, and Luke Nolan Warren 01/20/2022.
Esther Loved the Lord, her God with every ounce of her being. She loved her husband, her children, and her nieces and nephews as her own. She really loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she referred to as “The Grandies”.
Her life on this Earth is proof that His grace can be seen in both triumph and tragedy.
