Mrs. Esther Lorise Jones

She was a graduate of HISD. A family friend to many, soon met Oscar Mack Jones of Brookshire, TX and married in June of 1965. To this union one child was born, a son Daven Demond Jones.

Esther was a student and graduate of Texas Southern University in Houston, TX and a devoted member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. She reached the level of a Master’s Degree in education after which she decided to take her teaching skills to Houston Independent Schools for over 46 years. Upon retirement she was diligent in the care and well-being of her mother and later her husband Oscar until their deaths. Unselfish in her life she denied her own healthcare. She was strong until her own last days. God was her strength.

Esther “Doll” departed this life Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at 9:45pm.

She leaves to cherish her memory: a son, Daven Jones; wife, Chandra; a grandson, Donovan; 5 step grandsons, Jermey, Christopher, Jonathon, Jeffery and Branden. Brother in laws of Brookshire, TX: Richard Earl, Sie, Wiley, and a host of nieces, nephews, special relatives, and friends.
