Esther Mae Robinson was born February 2, 1948, to proud parents Melvin Robinson and Lillie B Harris. She accepted the Lord as her personal savior early in age at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Louisiana. Esther later moved to Houston and served for many years at Greater Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was a gifted singer and served in the music ministry. Esther extended her singing talent at the early age of 15 with the Holy Inspirations, and later joined as lead vocalist of Jubilant Jeweltones. Esther was a blessing to others and her community as Founder of Sisterhood, and supporter of Tidwell Civic Center. She also extended her natural gift of servitude as a health care provider for those in need. Esther was a lady of fashion and passed on her trend to women in the community as a nail technician.
Esther Robinson was united in marriage to Curtis Doublin, to this union five children were born.
She is preceded in death by her (son) Curtis Doublin Jr, (mother) Lillie B. Harris, (father) Melvin Robinson, (sister) Annie Pearl McLemore, (brother) James C. Martin Jr.
Esther leaves to cherish her memories daughters; Esther Marie Doublin (Calvin), Reamonia Yvonne Doublin, Janice Yvette Jackson (Richarter), son; Rodney Terrell Doublin (Shelithia), brothers; Jerry Martin, Melvin Harris, Donald Ray Harris, Melvin McLemore, Roy Harris, Frankie Lee Collins, Melvin Robinson, Lionel Harris, Rickey Robinson, Lionel Robinson, sisters: Gayle Jefferson, Toni Booker, Doris Robinson, Zola James, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, god-children, god-sisters, and friends.
She was a mother to all and as that mother she opened her heart to Gertha Renee Williams, LaTorsha Jacobs, Paul Hutchinson, Charlene Fields, and Wayne Baines. She loved and raised them as her own.
