At the young age of 13, Estelle left Jamaica and moved to London, England to join her older sister Amy and embark on a new journey of life. Dreaming of a life filled with opportunity and hope, Upon completing her schooling in London, Estelle soon found employment at a local solicitor's office.
On Christmas eve the year of 1970, Estelle attended a Christmas party where she met the love of her life and the man she would eventually marry....Rudolph Jackson Jr. To this union, three lovely children were born. Michael Anthony, Michelle Antoinette and Andre Bernard Jackson.
Motherhood was her calling, but her compassion and love extended way past that. Estelle decided to start a career in daycare. For over thirty years she ran a full service daycare from her home, where she taught and tended to the young and groomed several outstanding adults. She has had the wonderful opportunity of seeing several children that she had raised from near infancy, graduate college, get married and bear children of their own. She was a mother to dozens and a friend to all. Even years after leaving her care, children she had raised now grown adults would return to see her, keep her updated on their status of life, but most importantly to thank her for all the love, motivation and inspiration she had given them over the years.
In August of 2017, she and her family lost their home to the horrible wrath of hurricane Harvey. Leaving her and her family with virtually nothing, her and her husband made the difficult decision the leave their home in which they has raised their children to start fresh. Estelle and Rudy found and purchased a beautiful new home and were in the process of moving in and making it a home when her illness took hold. Even with her health deteriorating, she still managed to live and love with grace and beauty.
She leaves behind her husband of 44 years Rudolph Jackson, her son Michael an accomplished commercial insurance agent, her daughter Michelle a professional dance instructor and choreographer and her youngest son Andre who is currently the Vice President of Hospitality for Caesar's Entertainment. She is survived by her precious grandchildren, Kaiyn and Kyren Jackson, Gene and Monica Diana Edwards, Samantha Rose-Marie Edwards, Mark E. Edwards, Darryl Lee Edwards and a host of other relatives.
