Esperanza was born to Maria Cantu and Pablo Garza, September 28th, 1933 in Nava Coahuila, Mexico. She married Eduardo B. Garza in 1953, and lived together in San Antonio, Texas before moving to Houston, Texas. Together they raised three sons.
Left to cherish Esperanza's memory are her children; Eduardo Garza, Sergio and wife Elizabeth Garza, Pablo and wife Michelle Garza; grandchildren, Gabriella Guerra, Ashton Bailey and Elliot Garza. She also leaves behind great grandchildren, Leila, Zoe, and Nicolas Guerra.
Esperanza was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Eduardo B. Garza.
Esperanza worked in the food and service industry for LaTrelle's, Service America and Aramark, with over 29 years of service. She enjoyed bingo, gardening, visiting with neighbors, and attended many church activities.
A visitation for Esperanza is scheduled for Sunday, January 7, 2024 from 5 PM to 9 PM with a 7 PM rosary at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale St Houston, TX 77023. A final viewing will take place at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4419 N. Main St Houston, TX 77009 on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 9 AM with a funeral mass at 10 AM. Father Matthew will officiate the ceremony. Burial is to immediately follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale St Houston, TX 77023.
Serving as pallbearers are Eduardo Garza, Sergio Garza, Paul Garza, Javier Guerra, Elliot Garza and Virgilio Ibarra.
