Esequiel Gonzales Jr.

Esequiel Gonzales Jr., age 61, of Houston, Texas passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022. He was born in Houston, Texas on August 5, 1961 to parents Julia Savala Gonzales and Esequiel Gonzales Sr. If you knew Esequiel you knew he went by “Zeke or BB”. Esequiel attended school at Robert Louis Elementary, George Washington Jr. High and graduated from Reagan High School. He played Baseball at Cottage Grove Park and Timbergrove Little League. He had a great hand at pitching! Esequiel worked at Sysco Foods and Dawn Food Products. He loved barbequing, kept an immaculate yard and was a jovial soul with loads of laughter and a heart the size of TEXAS! His humor and wit kept everyone in cheerful spirits with great memories shared always. He was the primary caregiver for his 96 year old mother.

He is preceded in death by his father Esequiel Gonzales Sr.; grandmothers Maria Gonzales, Augustine and Maria Savala; sister Mary Lou Sabala.

Esequiel is survived by his daughters Ashley Nicole and Leslie Ann Gonzales; mother Julia Gonzales; sisters Carmen and husband Roy Sanchez Sr, Mary and husband Louis Lee Arredondo and Pat and husband Dan Rutherford; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; aunts Mary Vice and family, Gloria Herrera, Cecilia Cortez and family, Virginia Tomson and family; uncle Felix Savala and family.

Visitation for family and friends begin on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM. The rosary will begin at 10:30 AM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park immediately after the funeral service.

Serving as pallbearers Brian Binford, Benjamin Binford, Augustine Sabala, Robert Sanchez, John Tomson, Chris Jones, Christian Sanchez, Andrew Cortez and Simon Savala.
