Ernesto Alvarez Garcia, age 80, of Houston, Texas passed away on Wednesday June 10, 2020. Ernesto was born October 12, 1939 in Piedras Negras, Guanajuato, Mexico to Porfiria Alvarez and Alberto L Garcia .
Ernesto was the perfect mix of kind and stern. Beloved Ernesto; known by many as Grandpa only, was able to blend two beautiful families together so seamlessly that they did not know where one began and the other ended. So full of Christ's love, Ernesto could not help but give all that he had in the service of others without expecting anything in return. His generous nature was only matched by his charisma, so captivating were his stories that one would not dare to interrupt him. From his youthful days of angst and rebellion to his cross-country trips as a truck driver, our passionate storyteller and his larger than life tales will be held so close to our hearts as living testaments of his legacy. Ernesto will be sorely missed; his humor could brighten up a room and his heroism truly transformed lives. He was a blessing to all who knew him.
