Ernest Davis left us on February 21, 2023. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on October 6, 1932, to the late Ernest and Elizabeth Davis. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Eichhorn Davis, two daughters Pamela Davis, Brenda Davis Colwell and son Clifton Davis. He also has two stepsons Craig Eichhorn and Scott Eichhorn. He also leaves seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Trent Davis, brother Garland Davis and sisters, Maurine Green and Doris Gately.
Following graduation from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, Ernest attended Texas A&M University and earned a B.S. Degree. Following his service in the United States Army, he joined the Texas Highway Department and became the first Houston district office personnel supervisor. He later joined NL Baroid, an oil field service company as part of their international headquarters staff. Subsequently, he became the central region human resources manager and then the division’s labor relations manager just prior to retirement.
Following retirement, he established his own consulting firm dealing with recruiting and affirmative action plans compliance.
His hobbies were auto repair and restoration and home remodeling. Ernie had a sense of humor and enjoyed laughter. He leaves us with this phrase “Whoever leaves last, turn out the lights!”
