Erma Nell Gideon Clark was born in Abilene, TX on September 20, 1946 and passed on July 12, 2024 at the age of 77. Erma was born to Emmett and Dealie Gideon and was the middle child with 2 brothers; Milton and Wayne.
On April 23rd, 1965 she married her childhood sweetheart Thurman Clark. They met for the 1st time at Lindale Pool and it was love at first sight. In January of 1972 she was blessed with a daughter, Kathleen. Not long later in April of 1973 she was blessed again, with a son, Thurman.
Erma was a supportive wife and loving mother to her family. She showed such drive and compassion in everything she did. She went back to school and became a medical assistant all while still being an amazing housewife and mother. Erma was also a strong woman of faith who believed in the power of prayer. She spent time with the church, doing studies with her husband and helping other members of her church. She assisted with the food pantry and was also a Lay servant for Friendship Methodist Church in Porter, TX.
Erma spent her last few years taking care of her mother before her passing. Only to find out shortly after that she would now be battling cancer but at no time did she show fear. Erma faced this challenge head on and stood strong in her faith knowing she would stand at his side when it was her time.
Erma was the last of her immediate family. She has followed her father Emmett, older brother Milton, baby brother Wayne and her mother Dealie to the gates of heaven. She leaves behind her loving husband, 2 loving children and their loving spouses, 3 amazing grandson’s, as well as 2 wonderful granddaughters and 2 spectacular great grandchildren.
Today we say goodbye to a wonderful woman and celebrate the newest angel in heaven.
A visitation for Erma will be held Friday, August 2, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral arrangements will occur Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home. A burial committal will occur Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Brookside Memorial Park.
