Enrique Gallegos Contreras

Enrique Gallegos Contreras passed away January 4, 2017 at St. Lukes Episcopal Hospital in Houston, TX, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born December 15, 1946, in Robstown, TX. Enrique also known as "Quique" enjoyed spending time with his ever growing family and listening to Classic Rock music. His love and passion for music was so great, he collected thousands of vinyl record albums over many decades. He brought up his children on Classic Rock and it has been passed down to his grandchildren. The many songs he enjoyed will forever play on in our hearts. He is preceded in death by his father Porfirio Contreras, Sr. and mother, Ruth G. Contreras; brother, Porfirio Contreras, Jr. He is survived by his sisters, Janie Herrera and husband Alfonso, Mary Isaac and husband Jaime, and his brother Luis Contreras; beloved wife of 43 years, Oralia L. Contreras; 6 children, Porfirio Contreras, Valerie A. Aguirre and husband Adam, Veronica Meza and husband Isaac, Javier Contreras, Amanda Leal and Marissa Contreras. He was blessed with 17 grandchildren; Cassandra M. Aguirre, Angelina N. Aguirre, Adam Aguirre III, Matthew Aguirre, Samantha A. Lopez, Jose E. Lopez, Natalie Meza, Daisy Lopez, Jennifer Lopez, Javier Contreras Jr., Brianna M. Franco, Ryan Vale, Rihanna C. Vale, Randy B. Vale, Aubrianne Serna, Joe A. Garza and Isabelle Leal; 1 great-grandchild, Sophia M. Hernandez, 1 unborn grandchild, Ariel Balleza and 1 unborn great-grandchild, Max Loredo. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

Services will be held in the Grand Chapel at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Ave. Houston, TX 77023

Visitation - Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 5:00 - 9:00PM with prayer service at 7:00PM

Funeral Service - Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 11:00AM

Interment will follow in Forest Park Lawndale
