Enola Mae Dennis (Cosey) 76, a native of Vacherie, LA. (aka Moonshine), transitioned into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Legend Oak Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Enola was born on August 17, 1942 to the late Lawrence Dennis, Sr. and Oralie Pleasant Dennis. She is the youngest of four siblings She is preceded in death by her two “beloved” and “devoted” sisters: Mamie Dennis LeBlanc and Alice Dennis Sumerlin and one brother: Lawrence Dennis, Jr. Her husband: Samuel “Sunny” Cosey, Sr. one stepson: Samuel Cosey, Jr. and one grandson: Samuel Cosey, III. She is survived by a “loving” brother in law: Joseph LeBlanc of New Orleans, LA. A “devoted” niece: Joannell LeBlanc-Wilson (Jeffrey) of Houston, TX. Two nephews: Josh LeBlanc (Sharon) of New Orleans, LA. and Juan LeBlanc of Miami, FL. One great niece: Quiana Jones-Roberts (Jarred) of New Orleans, LA. One stepson: Curley Cosey, one granddaughter: Monjai’ Valise Cosey, one daughter in law: Peggy B. Cosey of Houston, TX. Two sisters in law: Florence Cosey Terrell (Charley) and Barbara Cosey Brumfield. Six brothers in law: Marion Cosey, Harrison Cosey, Nelson Cosey (Tres), Donald Cosey, Freddie Cosey (Toni) and Stanley Cosey. Enola is survived by a host of relatives, friends and five God-children. She grew up in Vacherie, LA. (aka Moonshine). Her education started at Cedar Grove Elementary and continued to Magnolia High, where she graduated in the class of 1960. Enola accepted Christ as her savior on June 30, 1957 at the age of 14. She was baptized in the muddy “Mississippi River” by the late Rev. Alcee Dennis, pastor of St. Luke Baptist Church of Moonshine, LA. She moved to New Orleans, LA. and became a member of the First House of Prayer Baptist Church, pastored by the late Rev. Lester Guidry. She had a love for singing. She was a member of the gospel chorus for many years. After uniting in marriage, she moved her membership to Ebenezer Baptist Church, pastored by the late Rev. Lawrence Landrum. Enola decided to further her education by attending Delgado College. She worked for 38 years at Southern Baptist Hospital in Radiology. Upon retirement, she continued studies through Union Baptist Theological Seminary. Among all of Enola’s accolades she loved the Lord with all her heart and soul. After the devastation of Hurricane Katrina - August 2005, she moved to Houston, TX. and immediately united with the Loving Word Fellowship, pastored by Dr. Paul D. Landrew. She loved her pastor and her church family. She was a member of the Loving Word Ordinance Ministry and Women’s Choir. Attending church activities was not an option for Enola. She attended faithfully until her health declined. In her final days, she began humming, “This old building, keeps on leaning. I got a new home on the other side”. She loved her New Orleans, LA. family and her new friends in Houston, TX. WELL DONE .. NOW YOU’RE SAFE AT THE MASTER’S SIDE
