Elsie Preuss Schulze

Elsie P. Schulze, age 92, was born as Elsa Helene Sophie Preuss on January 5, 1924 to Edwin Preuss, Sr. and Anna Wegner Preuss in Prairie Hill, Texas. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She graduated from Navasota High School in Navasota, Texas and Durham’s Business College in Houston. Elsie married Ernest F. Schulze in Prairie Hill, Texas on May 15, 1949. They made their home in Houston. She was a homemaker and business partner with Ernest in their construction business. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, volunteering at her church, and taking care of her grandbabies.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Ernest; parents; daughter, Daphne Nutter and husband, Gene; sisters, Leona Mae Wellmann and husband, Pete; Edna Graeber and husband, Fritz; Janice Marchand and husband, Donald; and brother, Edwin Preuss, Jr.

Elsie left to cherish her memories: daughters, Deidre Conner and husband, Steve; and Dawn Smith and husband, Karl. Elsie was blessed with six grandchildren, Gene II, Austin and wife, Katy, of Lindale, Texas, Lindsey and husband, Ryan, of Tomball, Tyler, Eric, and Michaella, all of Houston; two great-grandchildren, Tyson and Sarah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
