She moved to Houston at age 17 to become a nurse and was a member of the Army Nurse Corps. and later worked as a nurse in Houston Texas. She lived in Houston for the rest of her life.
She was married to Sebastian Frank “Sonny” Manis for 62 years.
She was an accomplished quilter and a founding member of the Houston Quilt Guild. She enjoyed showing her quilts to others and her work was shown at numerous quilt shows.
She was preceded in death by her husband Sonny, her parents Levi & Margret Craig and her great-nephew Martin Manis.
She is survived by her brother in law Matthew Manis, Sr. and wife Mary Manis of Georgetown Texas, her sister in law Katherine Pugh of Round Rock Texas, her niece Mary Manis and husband Greg of Huntsville Texas, her nephews Matthew Manis, Jr, and wife Valerie of Houston Texas, Frank Maniscalco and wife Sheryl of San Antonio Texas, Mark Manis and wife Glenda of Round Rock Texas and Michael Manis and wife Dawn of Lafayette Tennessee, her great-nieces Jamie Manis of Houston Texas, Jodie Manis of Austin Texas, Madison Manis and her great-nephew Matthew Manis III of Houston Texas.
She was a remarkable woman who walked three miles round trip to the grocery store every week well into her 94th year.
The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Spring Shadows and her caretaker Mary Ozan for their kindness and compassionate care, especially in the later stages of her life.
At Eloise's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
