Elmer Leroy Zoch was called home to his Heavenly Father on February 2, 2014. Elmer was born on February 17, 1932 in Warda, TX. He was drafted to the US Army and served in the Korean War. Elmer will be remembered for various interests, including his church, video taping, politics, farming/agriculture and carpentry. Elmer is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin T. Zoch and Ernestine Mertink Zoch; brother, Henry Zoch; and sister, Evelyn Lehmann. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Eva; daughter, Jennifer and her husband Ronald Hartmann, Jr.; grandson, Knox; brothers and sisters, Hattie Lovaasen, Irene Weaver, Raymond Zoch, Rudy Zoch, Freddie Zoch, and Eugene Zoch; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 6-8pm at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 10:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church Downtown, 800 Houston Ave, Houston, TX 77007. In Elmer’s remembrance, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church’s HUG 2 Campaign or the Texas Wendish Heritage Society.
