What a wonderful person Elliott was !  Michael and I, far away in the UK wish so much we could have been at the funeral at Our Lady of Walsingham Church, where Elliott and Joann  have been active and exemplary Catholics since the inception of the parish -- indeed, they were "founding parishioners."  I cherish memories of decorating the church during Holy Week, with Elliot carrying ladders, holding ladders for others, while draperies etc were arranged.  He was rock-steady dependable, with a comfortable and wry sense of humor.  The joyous evening dinner-dance celebration of Elliott's and Joann's 50th wedding anniversary is still bright in our memories--.   Rest In Peace, Elliott.  We shall miss you here, and there,  terribly.

I remember eating dinner with him at the head of the table many times during my childhood visits to Houston. My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. My heart is heavy with prayer for you as you walk through this trial.  Mr. Goulas was like a daddy to me, as you all are my heart family.  I love you all, and so wish I could make the service.
One memory I have, perhaps the first time I met mr. Goulas was at a football game Brett and my brother, Craig played in.  Dione and I were 6.  We assigned ourselves the cheerleaders of the game, but it was at Valley Oaks, and there were no bleachers, so we didn't have a crowd to lead, so we decided to go to the cars with the parents waiting in them, as they were trying to see the game and we cheered, then only knew really one cheer, so we decided to go to my mom's car and she got us to singing instead.  She coached us "climb up sunshine mountain"', and then she cheered us on to sing to the parents, so we picked out mr. (Unsuspecting) Goulas.  He was sitting in a yellow car listening to our song and watching our hand movements.  He had that sideways smile on his face when we left, and years later I remember his patience on being a good audience.
I love you guys, more than words can say.  Your my family away from my family!
