Ella M. Smith

On April 22, 1948m Ella Mae Marion was born in Monroe, Louisiana to Tyler and Ella Lee Marion. She was the fifth of eleven children born to this union. Ella accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Saint Matthew Baptist Church in Mangham, Louisiana. She attended and graduated from Alto High School in Alto, Louisiana. In March 1968, Ella was married to Eugene Smith. From that union they had three sons. She worked at Westin Galleria/Westin Oaks for 31 years as a desk attendant. She retired January 31, 2012. Ella leaves to mourn: eight sisters and two brothers; Ida Mills, Lucille Banks, Doris Mitchell, Florence Smith (Jessie), Ledora Marion, Rosie Marion, Sara Franklin (Ike), Deborah Thompson (), Alfred Robinson (Penny) and Tyler Marion (Misty); three sons and one daughter, Casino Smith (Tammie), Rodrick Smith (Margaret), Lovely LaSonja Gail and Cortarch Smith (Colia). She is survived by one special grandson, Casion Smith, Jr., very close friends Bertha Collett and Bubba Shine; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.
