ELIZABETH "BETTE" JOYCE ROBERTSON PALMER, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2010 and is now residing with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born to Richard Preston Robertson and Ellen Ursula Gannon on October 20, 1924 in New Orleans, LA. Bette was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey King Palmer, Jr. and her son, Aubrey King Palmer, III. She is survived by her daughters and their spouses Karla & Johnny Balensiefen of Bossier City, LA; Debra & Freddie Yaggi of Houston, TX; Sandra & Jerry Meyer of Charlotte, NC; and Pamela Cotten of Lafayette, LA. She has 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Bette enjoyed going to the beach, playing bridge and bowling. She had many positions of employment in her life, the last being a Deputy Sheriff in Lafayette, LA. A memorial service will be held at Foundry United Methodist Church, 8350 Jones Rd., Houston, TX 77040, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 17, 2010. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association , Western Carolina's Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Dr., Charlotte, NC 28215.
