Betty Nagel, age 84, passed away peacefully in Cypress, Tx. on April 26, 2012. She was born in Tallahassee, Fl. on January 8, 1928. Betty lived in North Carolina & Tennessee then moved to Houston in 1946. She earned a Masters of education from U of H in 1952. Betty was a dedicated elementary school and middle school, (HISD), teacher for over 20 years. Betty also taught overseas in Japan for 3 years. She was Baptist and past president of Texas Cashmere Association. She loved antiques, needlework and raising goats. Betty was preceded in death by her grandson, Nicholas Nagel and brother, Presnell (Preston) Mull. She is survived by her husband, Bill Nagel; sons, Bobby Nagel and wife Annette of Cypress, Tx. and Buddy Nagel and wife Kim of Katy, Tx.; grandchildren, Brittony Hodgins and husband James of Lubbock, Tx., Amanda Dunford and husband Jeremy of Fairview, Tx., Matthew Nagel ( attending ACU ), Nathan Nagel and Kate Nagel of Katy, Tx. and brother, Horace (Buddy) Mull of Knoxville, Tn. Serving as Pallbearers, James Hodgins, Jeremy Dunford, Matt Nagel, Nathan Nagel, and Bob Alexander. Donations, if any, may be made to the American Heart Association. A visitation will be held this Sunday, April 29th from 6-8 PM in our Main Chapel of Forest Park Westheimer with the funeral service the following morning Monday at 10 AM. Burial will take place on Wed. May 2nd at 10:30 in Houston National Cemetery.
