Elizabeth Garcia Mora was born April 14th, 1980 in Talara, Peru and went to be with The Lord on September 19, 2017. She battled brain cancer for 8 years and the last weeks of her life received a second diagnosis of cancer, neuro endocrine cancer. She was a warrior with tremendous courage, bravery and strength.
She was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, girlfriend, family and friend.
Elizabeth was loved by so many people. She touched so many lives everywhere she went. She loved children and was a speech therapist in the school district for 12 years. She was a mentor and teacher to many. Her faith was amazing and she was a shining light for Jesus with her loving and tender ways.
She is survived by her 9 year old son, Mateo Mora; her parents, Julio and Rossana Garcia; her twin sister, Katherine G. Gonzales and her husband, Benito Gonzales Jr. ; her brother, Mario Garcia and girlfriend, Rachel Kelm; her maternal grandmother, Mafalda Almond; her boyfriend Israel Castillo; her nephews, Jayden and Aiden Gonzales and niece, Ava Gonzales; and countless family members from Peru to Houston, the Mora family and many friends and colleagues.
She is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Julio and Yolanda Garcia; maternal grandfather, Charles Almond Sr. ; and her maternal uncle, Jimmy Almond.
Services will be held at Forest Park Westheimer 12800 Westheimer on Sunday September 24th from 5-8pm to celebrate her amazing life. Mass service will be held at the Chapel on Monday September 25th at 10am followed by burial at the funeral home cemetery.
