Elizabeth Smira Kocian, age 94, entered into life on December 14, 1917 in Danbury, TX. She entered into rest on Wednesday, January 4, 2012. Elizabeth was a longtime member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She is reunited with her husband, Edward Joseph Kocian; parents, Josef Smira and Frances Anna Krejci Smira; two brothers, Cecil and Joe Smira and three sisters, Frances Standlee, Mary Kruschinsky and Veronica Beaty. She leaves to cherish fond memories, her daughter, Barbara Kocian; sister, Cecilia Rotenberry and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, January 8, 2012 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Pat H. Foley & Company with the Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 9, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with a final period of visitation to be begin at Noon at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman St., 77018. Elizabeth will be laid to rest at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
