Elizabeth “Lizzie” Howze, 91, of Houston, Texas passed away January 1, 2022 in Bryan, Texas. Elizabeth was born October 12, 1930 to parents, Robert Frank Sadler and Bessie Mae Sanderson Sadler in Huntsville, Alabama.
At the young age of 8 years old, Lizzie lost her mother and shortly thereafter, her father moved to Houston along with her brother and sister. Lizzie attended Milby High School where she was in the drill team.
At the age of 16, she fell in love with Truman Howze and they were never separated for 74 years until his death in June 2021. In 1961, Truman entered the ministry. He and Lizzie served the Lord faithfully at Gatewood Baptist Church and recently at Green Valley Baptist Church for 47 years. Lizzie was the perfect example of a minister’s wife. She was a loving mother and grandmother as well.
Mrs. Howze is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Truman Howze; brothers, Samuel Sadler and Daniel Sadler; sister, Lois Fincher; and great-grandson, Aaron Carr.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Howze Anglin; grandchildren, Brenda Lee Peveto, Apryl Carr, and Gary Lee Elliott; great grandchildren, Collin Peveto, Caleb Peveto & Katie Jo, Katey Toland & husband John; great-great grandson, Kyson Peveto.
Service for Mrs. Howze will be 12pm, Monday, January 10, 2022, at Green Valley Baptist Church 16803 Aldine Westfield Rd. Houston, Texas 77032. Interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park at 2pm.
