I will always be grateful for your Father's mentoring during that time.
We left Houston in 1986 and would occasionally speak.
Sadly we just learned of his passing.(8/20/17)

The world has lost a great and honorable man.

My Dad knew the true meaning of taking care of his family.  He always provided for us and never made us do without if he could help it.  He cared for our Mom when others may have fled, honoring his vows to the end.  

One of the things I admired most about my Dad was that he went to work everyday and every Friday he would come home and hand over his paycheck to Mom to take care of business (our family). Some Fridays he would load us in the car and take us to eat fried shrimp at Prince's Drive Inn on Wayside.

I would not be the person I am today without his undying support.  Dad, I will miss you more than you'll ever know.

Elias R. Sanchez
ELIAS R. SANCHEZ, 85
Elias R. Sanchez, age 85, died peacefully on April 20, 2017 at his home in Houston, Texas. Elias was born February 6, 1932 in Kerrville, Texas.
Elias proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  After his military service, Elias received training as a welder, a profession he enjoyed for over 30 years.
In 1957, Elias married the love of his life, Paulita from El Remolino, Coahuila, Mexico.  They were married for 58 years.
Elias enjoyed playing golf and reading.
Elias is survived by sons Elias Jr. and Luis; daughters Sylvia and Olga; grandsons Marcos and Timothy and his brother Agosto.  He also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.
We take comfort that as Dad arrives in heaven he is reuniting with Mom, our brother Roberto, and his parents Agosto and Luisa Sanchez.
Words cannot express what you did for us as a father. You raised your children with morals, respect and values. We're proud to say you made our family one of love, resilience and compassion.  Your skill and tradesman ship showed us how to use our minds to resolve issues. We love you dad and you will be missed.
