Eldon Dewain Spencer, 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2013 after a yearlong battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents, EJ and Alice Spencer. He is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Linda Spencer; son, Jimmy Spencer and wife, Rachel; grandchildren, Kayla and Mitchell Spencer; and parents-in-law Jim and Barbara Carver. He also leaves behind his favorite dog, Lucky, to keep watch over Linda.
Mr. Spencer worked in the Maritime Industry since 1972 and leaves behind a legacy of work ethic for his son Jimmy to follow. He had a love for being out on the water and enjoyed weekends with his family on Lake Livingston boating and fishing. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Forest Park Lawndale’s Chapel of Angels at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Houston Hospice on Holcombe would be appreciated as an honor to Eldon for their warm hearts and care in his final days.
