Elaine Condra Gideon, age 56 of Quinlan, TX, passed away November 15, 2014. She was born November 19, 1957 in Freeport, TX, to Louis W Condra, Jr. & Edna Mae (Rowell) Condra. Elaine was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. She worked a variety of jobs over the years. Elaine loved working alongside her husband Carl in various computer software related positions but her greatest role was that of mother. She was an active member of Lake Pointe Church. Elaine loved life and was always excited to experience it in new ways. She went skydiving with her son Brandon on his 18th birthday. Elaine had her own zip line in her back yard and loved to go rock crawling (using specialty off-road trucks to climb huge boulders) with her nephew. She played Skipbo regularly with her mother and spent hours putting puzzles together with her mother-in-law.
Elaine deeply impacted the lives of many of her son’s friends. She loved using skate ministries to bring the gospel to countless numbers of troubled youth, and she invested time and love in the skaters involved. Elaine gladly adopted anyone and everyone and loved them as family, and showed a caring Mother’s love to many who had hard lives. She felt music was her heart language and was always humming or singing hymns, loved singing Handel’s Messiah and would sing at the nursing home in Royce City regularly. Elaine had a loving, generous, adventurous, and musical spirit. Her family and friends will miss her dearly, but know she is even now, experiencing new life in the Lord’s presence.
Elaine is survived by her husband: Carl Alvin Gideon; son: Brandon Condra Gideon & fiancée Alaina Carolyn Williamson; mother: Edna Mae (Rowell) Condra; sister: Donna Condra Krempin & husband Earl Krempin, their daughter Lauren Rachel Krempin and son Ryan Matthew Krempin & wife Sarah Krempin, and their children Ryder, Reid and Rory; brother: Neil Louis Condra & wife Becky Condra, their daughter Heather Condra Martinez & husband D.J.
