Edward was a product of North Forest ISD graduating from Forest Brook High School in 1978. He continued his education at Texas Southern University with a Bachelors degree in Music Education and a Masters degree in Music Education from Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas.
He began his teaching career in Beaumont, Texas and later was employed in Port Arthur, Texas. He moved back to Houston where he began his career with the North Forest Independent School District where he was honored as Teacher Of The Year . He dedicated his life to his career as an educator.
His biological mother (Lillian Brown), father (Edward Washington) and sister Bobbie preceded him in death. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Gladis: daughters Brittany and Kristen; a play son Anthony Mack; mother, Willie Mae Kimble; Aunt, Ruby Lee Washington; siblings, Elnita, Gwendolyn, Janice, Jerome, Joyce, Lewis, Eula Jean, Marion, Jamie and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, friends and students.
