“Rudy” Edward Rudolph Stone, 79, passed away April 5, 2017. He was a native Houstonian born May 15, 1937. He grew up in Houston and loved all things Houston. He was a season ticket holder for the Houston Oilers and the Texas Gamblers. He also was a Lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and served on the youth Horse show Committee. Over the years Rudy owned and showed quarter horses and was a member of the Texas Quarter Horse Association. Rudy was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, play golf and he loved his dogs, Kizzie and Sammy.
His profession by trade was Glass Glazing and through-out the years he owned and operated several local glass businesses, he supported glass franchises for several major national firms and estimated major commercial construction jobs.
Rudy is preceded in death by Bonita Stone, his wife and his parents Viola and Moroni Stone. Rudy is survived by daughters: Tammy Trevett, Stacie Brown and Dawn Kenward (John Kenward, decreased) and son, Dirk Heitkamp. Also, grandchildren: Caitlin Trevett, Ryley Brown, Justin Thomas, John Michael Kenward, Paige and Brooke Heitkamp and great grandson Gio Laureano.
In lieu of customary remembrances, donations may be made in his honor to your favorite charity. There will be a viewing on April 9th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.and services April 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Brookside Funeral Home and Cemetery 13747 Eastex Freeway.
