He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on January 11, 1942. He retired from Brown & Root in 2002 after a long career that brought him and his family to live in Scotland, Great Britain, Canada, and Bahrain in the Middle East. They traveled extensively across the Mediterranean, Europe, and the African coast.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Powers Pratt, Sr., and Kathryn Eldridge Pratt.
Danny is survived by his children, Toya Phillips, Desira Rayburn, and Danny Pratt III, all in Houston; grandchildren Chance and Rebecca Phillips and Chase and Jodi Phillips of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; and Colton and Violet Pratt of Houston, as well as his great-grandchildren: Claire, Holly, and Carter Phillips, and Cyrus and Canton Phillips. He is also survived by his sister Gail and husband Larry Whitmore, and brother Ray and wife Deborah Schulenberg Pratt.
His ashes will be spread in Prairieville, Louisiana, in a private ceremony.
