Edward Menchaca

Beloved father, grandpa, brother and son, Edward Menchaca 69 of Houston Texas, passed away June 9, 2023. Edward (Ed) was born in Laredo Tx and grew up in Corpus Christi, Tx. He attended the Corpus Christi Academy where he played high school football and baseball and made the Class 2A TCIL All-State team his senior year. He graduated from the Academy in 1972, and moved to Houston to attend the University of Houston and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He was an avid surfer in his youth and loved going to the Houston Zoo with his daughter. Watching documentaries on history and the animals of the African Serengeti also brought him great joy. He is preceded in death by his parents Esteban and Socorro Menchaca of Corpus Christi. He is survived by his daughter Victoria Menchaca (grandson Julio) Fermin of Florida, sister Joyce Lara (Albert) of San Antonio Tx, brother Steve Menchaca (Barbara) of North Carolina, sister Elizabeth Hartman (Morand) of Dallas Tx, brother Mark Menchaca (Roseanne) of Houston Tx, sister Maureen Dilone (Joseph) deceased of Houston Tx, Eileen Kim (Jimmy) of Dallas Tx.

Edward is also survived by his nieces and nephews Clarissa Fattig, Jessica Chmielewski, Stephany Bright, Chynna Phung, Gabrielle Dilone, Anthony Hartman, Sean Hickman, Stefan Menchaca, Nicholas Menchaca, Nathanael Lara.

Edward will be missed by his family but he will never be forgotten.
