Ed grew up in Beaumont and graduated cum laude with the last senior class of Forest Park High School in 1982. He attended Lamar University earning a B.B.A. in Accounting in 1988 and obtained his CPA certification. After graduation, he moved to Houston and started working in the energy industry where he spent his entire professional career working in the energy trading business.
He spent many years volunteering as a coach for his sons’ sports teams with SBMSA, St. Cecilia Catholic Church and School and other select baseball teams. He treasured this time with his sons. He spent his teenage years water skiing and shared his love for the water with his sons while wakeboarding on Lake Livingston. These were some of the best years of his life.
Ed also enjoyed playing golf with his friends at Sugar Creek Country Club, as well as around the US as he traveled for work.
In his final years, he started a woodworking business building cabinets, desks, doors and various items for family and friends.
Ed is preceded in death by his father, James Capo, Sr and his older brother, Jimmy Capo.
He is survived by his two sons, Samuel Capo, Wesley Capo and wife Polina, his mother, Patsy Capo, his sister Elizabeth Kutchback and husband Jim. He is also survived by his nephews, Collin Capo and Jacob Kutchback. Ed is missed by his most faithful companion, his black lab, Coal.
A gathering of Ed’s family and friends will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc Drive, Houston, TX 77024 on Saturday, March 8, 2025 with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Graveside service will be held in Beaumont on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park,4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, TX 77703 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Peace of Mind Foundation or The 100 Club.
