Eduardo Arturo Acevedo

Mr. Acevedo graduated with a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Instituto Politécnico Nacional in Mexico and went on to work as an engineer and procurement manager for over 50 years at Pemex and later ITS in Houston. Eduardo had a wide range of interests, from the study of medicine to enjoying all genres of music. He remained active throughout his life: he was an avid mountain climber in his youth and a talented gardener in his later years. He enjoyed watching sports with his family, especially his favorite Mexico soccer teams El Tri and El Leon, the Texas A&M Aggies, and his beloved Houston Oilers, Texans, Rockets, and Astros.

Eduardo‘s family was important above all. He was married to the love of his life, Francisca Acevedo, for 56 years. They moved their family from Mexico to Houston in 1974, where they continued to uphold a strong commitment to ensuring their children received the best education and faith-based instruction. Eduardo and Francisca traveled the world, visiting many countries spanning five continents. Eduardo was best known for his ability to make people laugh and for his love for and adoration of his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Eduardo Acevedo is preceded in death by his mother, Herminia Reyes, and his father, Dionisio Acevedo. He is survived by his wife Francisca Diaz Acevedo of Houston, Texas; his son, Eduardo Arturo Acevedo, Jr. and wife Robin Danford Acevedo of Katy, Texas, and their children, Jessica and Nicole; his daughter, Cynthia Acevedo Galloway and husband Jeff Galloway of Katy, Texas, and their children, Amanda and Benjamin; and son, Oscar Daniel Acevedo and wife Elizabeth Saenz Acevedo of Katy, Texas, and their children, Abram, Isaiah, and Victoria.

Services will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 22, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Eduardo Acevedo to the American Cancer Society.
