Ed is survived by Margaret Jean “Peggy” Holten, his wife of 53 years, sons Edmund J. Holten of Omaha, NE and Jeffrey T. Holten of Bastrop, TX, daughter Cynthia Tesori and husband Gene of Spring, TX, and grandsons Shawn Edmund and Matthew Tesori. He also leaves brother William Holten and wife Peggy of Maryville, IL, brothers-in-law John Frey (Raleigh, NC) and P.J. Keeley (Chicago, IL), sisters-in-law Pat Kennedy and husband Brian (Niantic, CT), Lilian Golston (The Woodlands, TX), and Dorothy Serralles and husband Jorge (Spring, TX), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Edmund Herman Holten Sr. and Elizabeth Small Holten, and sisters Marilyn Frey and Elizabeth Keeley.
Ed was born in East St. Louis, IL on February 9, 1936. He attended CBC High School in St. Louis and St. Mary’s College in Winona, MN. Ed was a lifetime employee of Hussman Refrigeration.
He was an active supporter of youth sports, and a devoted Houston Texans fan. Ed will be fondly remembered for the love and generosity he so willingly shared with many family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at Northwoods Presbyterian Church, 3320 FM 1960 West in Houston, on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 1:00.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
