Edith Joann Irvin

Edith, most fondly known as Joann, graduated from Brazosport High School in 1956. She met Nolan Irvin in 6th grade at Clute Elementary and the two married on November 21, 1959. Joann worked in banking at Channelview/Prime/Wells Fargo Bank as an Administrative Assistant for over 20 years. She was a member of Lakeway Baptist Church and had a passion for the children’s ministries at church.

​She is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Stella Magness, and sister Margaret Newman and brother-in-law Oscar Newman.

She is survived by her loving husband, Nolan Irvin; son, Gregory Irvin and wife Gayle; daughter, Tamara Eagans and husband Rayford; son, Grant Irvin and wife Dawn; grandchildren, Thomas Cottle, Natalie DeBrock and husband David, Hailey Plant and husband Garrick, Cassidy Killham and husband Joshua, Jacob Music and wife Julianna, and Sean Irvin; great grandchildren, Paisleigh Wilson, Stella Plant, Roper Killham, Jim DeBrock and brother, Harry Magness Jr. and wife Sherry as well as a host of other family and friends are also left to cherish her memory.

Honorary Pallbearers are: David DeBrock, Thomas Cottle, Garrick Plant, Joshua Killham, Jacob Music and Sean Irvin.

A visitation for Joann will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lakeway Baptist Church, 5801 FM 1960, Humble, TX 77346. A funeral service is scheduled to follow and begin promptly at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at 2:00 PM at Restwood Memorial Park, 1038 W Plantation Dr, Clute, TX 77531.
